The joint conference of the European Medical and Biological Engineering Conference (EMBEC) and the Nordic-Baltic Conference on Biomedical Engineering and Medical Physics (NBC) will be held in Tampere Hall, Tampere, Finland, on 11-15 June 2017.
The third largest city in Finland and the largest inland city in the Nordic countries, Tampere, is located in Southern Finland, 175 km north of Helsinki, the capital of the country. Tampere is easily accessible by air, by train, and by bus/car.
There are direct flights to Tampere-Pirkkala airport from for example Helsinki, Stockholm (Sweden), Bremen (Germany), and Budapest (Hungary). Trains between Helsinki and Tampere run every hour. The Pendolino train from Helsinki main railway station takes only about an hour and a half. For information on timetables and fares, please see the train company VR’s website.
Buses to Tampere from Helsinki Airport and main harbours depart roughly once an hour. For bus timetables, please see Matkahuolto and Expressbus.
The conference venue, Tampere Hall, is located close to the city centre, only 500 metres from the railway and bus stations, and most of Tampere’s hotels are just a 5-15 minute walk away.
